The infrastructure team at The University of Texas Enterprise Technology supports the University’s research, academic mission, and day-to-day operations by delivering reliable, secure, and efficient communications, networking, and data center services. The department plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing the university's technological infrastructure. 

Network & Telecommunications 
The Network & Telecommunications team delivers robust communications and building systems technology to over 250 buildings and remote sites across campus. Their services include networking, voice, cabling, facilities design for construction and remodeling, warehouse management, and business office operations. 

Electronic Physical Security System & Data Center 
The Electronic Physical Security team ensures the secure and reliable operation of electronic physical security systems and enterprise data center facilities critical to the university’s operations.  

The University Data Centers (UDC) team operates and manages the university's enterprise data centers and network access points, ensuring critical servers and devices are available 24/7.The UDC oversees approximately 2,500 devices across 50+ units within its managed facilities. In addition to ensuring high service availability, the team supports the university’s growing technological infrastructure with robust systems designed to meet enterprise-level needs.  

Complementing the UDC’s operations, the Electronic Physical Security Systems (EPSS) team manages the University Genetec Security System. This includes overseeing servers and field devices for door access systems requiring proximity cards, panic buttons, video security, property protection alarms, and intrusion detection systems. The EPSS infrastructure supports 2,031 CCTV cameras, 2,569 access-controlled doors, 136 biometric readers, 1,548 panic buttons, and 1,690 intrusion detection alarm points, ensuring the safety and security of the university community.  

System-Wide Networking Services 
Leads the architecture, operations, and management of the UT System shared wide area network The Infrastructure department is committed to maintaining and improving the university’s critical technology systems to support its mission of excellence in research, academics, and service.
