Empowering Innovation: Envisioning, Developing, and Supporting Enterprise Technology Solutions

In 2025, the Office of the Vice President for Technology & CIO will rebrand as Enterprise Technology, establishing core offices and a senior leadership team. Financial health will be managed through budget containment and new funding models. A comprehensive digital presence will be launched, including an enhanced service portal. Service reviews will refine the service catalog, and work to identify common good service opportunities outside of our organization that can be scaled.

The First 365 Days

Within the first 120 Days | Establish SLT & Structure

  • Create the Office of the Vice President for Technology & CIO to support a combined organization, rebranded as Enterprise Technology. 
  • Add core offices, including communications, HR, Finance, PMO, and support. 
  • Assess and establish senior leadership team (SLT) to oversee core lines of business.

60-180 Days In | Ensure Financial Health

  • Work with the Office of the CFO to ensure base budget containment for FY25, introduce new funding models to begin technical debt management, 
    and create new chart of accounts. 
  • New Executive Governance will be finalized to be put into place in FY25 to better ensure strategic alignment of overall IT investments.

90-250 Days In | Launch Digital Presence

  • Introduce a comprehensive digital footprint for Enterprise Technology, designed to be the focal point of enterprise IT related activities. 
  • This will include an enhanced service portal, regular campus-wide communications, project intake mechanisms, and regular program updates.

180-300 Days In | Internal Service Portfolio

  • Lead a service review to identify where adjustments should be made to our service catalog. 
  • Including a review and revision of knowledge articles to promote tier zero & one utilization. 
  • Campus IT organizations with enterprise service offerings will be identified.

100-365 Days In | Finalize Organizational Structure

  • Finalize the structure of the new Enterprise Technology organization. 
  • This new organizational design will be created with the future-facing opportunities of the University as a guiding principle.
  • “Landing zones” will be envisioned for additional campus IT services.
