John Lovelace

John has been a part of the University of Texas at Austin IT community for over 15 years. As the Associate Vice President of Infrastructure, he and his team collaborate with campus and vendor partners to ensure a stable and evolving network that meets the needs of the university today and in the future. Additionally, he leads the UT System Office of Telecommunications Services, providing wide-area network services to all UT System institutions.

Throughout his tenure at the university, John has held various operational and project management roles in information technology. Major projects and initiatives include:

• The initial equipment move into the data center following its construction
• The migration of services from the legacy UMBS email system to UTmail
• The rollout of the VoIP telephone system across campus
• The Program Management Office for the Administrative Systems Modernization Program

Before joining UT Austin, John held IT leadership positions at General Electric and ADT Security.

John holds an MBA and a BS in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
