Enterprise Technology was proud to be part of the AWS Summit Conference held in Washington, DC on June 10th–11th, where we joined a panel discussion titled “How Data Modernization Powers Educational Innovation.” The session provided a platform to spotlight UT Austin’s Gen AI Tutor application, UT Sage—a project that exemplifies how innovation thrives through strong partnerships and shared vision.
Representing our team, Eric Weigel, Senior Information Technology Manager in our Campus Solutions team, shared insights into the development and impact of UT Sage. The application, developed in collaboration with AWS and supported by the AWS Gen AI Innovation Center at no cost, has been in beta since March 2025 and is on track for general availability in August 2025.
The AWS Summit in Washington, DC is the second-largest AWS event globally, drawing approximately 16,000 attendees. Our session welcomed around 60 participants and offered a valuable opportunity to showcase the progress of UT Sage and acknowledge the critical support from AWS.
UT Sage stands as a testament to what’s possible when visionary leadership, talented teams, and strategic vendor collaboration come together. We’re excited to continue building on this momentum as we prepare for the full launch later this summer.
