Service Spotlight: Data Models

The Data Models team within Enterprise Technology plays a key role in helping The University of Texas at Austin make smarter, more informed decisions. As part of the Data to Insights (D2I), the team transforms complex university data into clear, reliable information that can be used across campus.

Listen in as we hear from three of our colleagues talk about how their team supports the UT campus, and why their work is so important to the community. You will hear directly from the service team on problems they solve and why it's so important for decision-making.

By creating shared data models, the team ensures that students, faculty, staff, and campus leaders are all working from a consistent and trusted source of information. This helps reduce confusion, improve reporting accuracy, and make it easier to answer important questions about university operations.

Their work supports critical areas such as financial reporting, workforce insights, and student data. Ongoing efforts, like enhancements to financial data systems and the development of a centralized Student Data Model, continue to improve how the university connects and uses information.

Through close collaboration with partners across campus, the Data Models team helps turn data into meaningful insights that support planning, strategy, and the future of the University.
