Another successful Orientation season is in the books at UT Austin.
Over the course of 24 Orientation sessions throughout the summer, thousands of incoming students took important first steps towards their Longhorn experience, from receiving their UT ID card to completing EID upgrades. Behind every interaction was a dedicated team committed to ensuring students and families had a smooth, welcoming experience as they prepared for life on campus.
This summer, the ID Center supported students through a high volume of essential onboarding services:
- 11,320 ID Cards printed
- 8,875 CloudCard photo submissions
- 9,321 EID upgrades completed
- 185 survey responses received (89% increase compared to last year)
While the numbers demonstrate the scale of support provided, the student experience tells an even stronger story.
Survey results showed a 91% overall satisfaction rating, with improvements reported across every survey category. These results reflect the ID Center team's ongoing commitment to delivering efficient, friendly, and reliable service throughout orientation.
"One of the best parts of Orientation is hearing directly from our students and families.
Recently, a parent shared that they have two children starting their freshman year — one at UT Austin and the other at another Texas university. After experiencing both ID card distribution processes, they told our ID Center Manager that UT Austin's process was significantly faster and more efficient.
