Canva transforms the way you bring ideas to life. This intuitive design platform streamlines the creation of professional-quality visuals, whether you're developing engaging presentations, eye-catching social media graphics, promotional materials, or dynamic video content. As part of our ongoing commitment to digital innovation, the university is expanding access to Canva to support faculty and staff in elevating their creative projects, enhancing communication, and fostering collaborative work across campus.

Following the successful rollout to all UT Austin students last fall, Canva will be available for faculty and staff beginning March 17. This expansion allows our entire campus community to leverage the same powerful design tools that students are already using in their coursework and projects.

Detailed information about the pricing and process for requesting a Canva account will be shared in the coming days. Additionally, we'll be announcing upcoming training sessions and resources to help you maximize Canva's features and integrate them seamlessly into your workflow.

Launching the University’s New Controlled Research Support Program

Campus Solutions

In collaboration with Infrastructure, Engagement & Experience, Operations

The University is building the new Controlled Research Support Program (CRSP) to unify enterprise technology, research support and compliance, and information security expertise. This coordinated program establishes a structured approach for navigating controlled environments and onboarding controlled research projects efficiently, with a new CRSP team in ET Campus Solutions led by Jeremy Wilson, who strengthens program development through extensive cybersecurity leadership experience.

CRSP provides a coordinated approach that helps investigators navigate highly controlled environments and meet sponsor requirements. With Wilson’s background leading statewide cyber response and building large‑scale security programs, ET is enhancing readiness for controlled research and reducing award delays tied to compliance gaps.

Federal sponsors increasingly require strict compliance with frameworks such as NIST 800‑171, CMMC, ITAR, and NIH GDS. CRSP connects research operations with ET security and compliance expertise to streamline onboarding of controlled projects. Wilson’s public‑sector leadership and certifications reinforce ET’s role in supporting secure, compliant research.

Spring Break lifecycle upgrades strengthen University network reliability

Infrastructure

Enterprise Technology Infrastructure is executing a Spring Break initiative to replace more than 170 aging network devices across 16 buildings. This effort continues ET’s multi‑year plan to modernize core infrastructure and improve overall network performance. New switches and wireless access points improve security, stability, and daily operational reliability for University users. These upgrades also reduce risk by removing outdated hardware and support a more sustainable refresh cycle. The Infrastructure team has collaborated with campus partners for two years to retire outdated network equipment. This coordinated lifecycle effort positions the University for predictable, scalable hardware replacement in the future.

Major Funnel Dashboard and Documentation Finalized for Targeted EVPP Stakeholder Release

D2I

D2I completed the Major Funnel Dashboard feature review and finalized the supporting business process documentation. The release confirms core functionality, including lifecycle tracking across applied, admitted, enrolled, and degrees conferred populations, and validates the general major transformation logic used to create consistent, transparent major groupings.

The dashboard provides three integrated views with synchronized ranking logic and filtering, enabling EVPP stakeholders to compare student trends across more than 100 general major groupings. The crosswalk download and documented CIP‑based mappings improve transparency and reduce ambiguity in interpreting application‑to‑degree patterns.

Teams reviewed dashboard functionality, handling of special cases like Business Administration, and logic for double majors. Documentation details major‑to‑general‑major transformation, exceptions, and CIP code changes. Access will be limited initially due to sensitive admissions data, with a PDF version of documentation planned for external users via Alation.
