Accessibility isn’t just compliance—it’s good teaching. In this session, we’ll explore how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility work together to create more inclusive, effective Canvas courses.

You’ll get a practical introduction to UDL’s core principles, learn how recent ADA Title II updates are shaping digital learning, and identify common barriers in Canvas courses. Most importantly, you’ll leave with simple, actionable strategies you can apply right away—without adding more to your workload.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the connection between UDL and accessibility
  • Identify at least 2 common barriers in their Canvas course
  • Apply one “plus one” strategy to improve access for students

Earn a Digital Badge. by attending a minimum of 5 sessions (Days 1-2), participating in the in-person Open Lab session (Day 3), and completing an Accessibility Checklist Download Accessibility Checklist.

*Day 3 will be hybrid, with online and in-person (RRH 2.238) options to choose from. Lunch will be provided for participants registered for the in-person Course Accessibility Checklist session (11am - 1pm).
