Summary
Students don’t all learn, engage, or demonstrate understanding in the same ways—and effective course design plans for that variability from the start. In this session, we’ll explore advanced UDL strategies for creating flexible learning experiences in Canvas while maintaining clarity, consistency, and academic rigor.
You’ll learn how to design meaningful choices without overwhelming students, align outcomes with assessments and supports, and use Canvas tools to create more adaptable learning pathways. This session focuses on intentional flexibility: designing courses that support learner variability proactively, not reactively.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Anticipate learner variability when designing Canvas activities and pathways
- Provide structured choices that support flexibility without creating confusion
- Align outcomes, assessments, and supports using UDL-informed strategies
