Summary
Creating accessible documents doesn’t have to be overwhelming—and you don’t have to do it alone.
In this session, you’ll meet the Digital Accessibility Center (DAC) and learn how their team supports accessible teaching across campus. We’ll then focus on practical strategies for creating accessible Word documents, PowerPoints, and PDFs using built-in tools and simple design practices.
You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of available support, plus actionable techniques to improve your course materials right away.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify services and support offered by the Digital Accessibility Center
- Apply basic accessibility practices to Word, PowerPoint, and PDF documents
- Use built-in accessibility checkers to improve document usability
Earn a Digital Badge. by attending a minimum of 5 sessions (Days 1-2), participating in the in-person Open Lab session (Day 3), and completing an Accessibility Checklist Download Accessibility Checklist.

*Day 3 will be hybrid, with online and in-person (RRH 2.238) options to choose from. Lunch will be provided for participants registered for the in-person Course Accessibility Checklist session (11am - 1pm).
